In this case study, we follow Helder Luis from AIM Security as he presents a commercial security installation where UniFi Protect serves as the backbone of the system.
At the core is the UniFi Gate Access Starter Kit (G3 Intercom, Gate Hub, PoE++ Adapter, and PoE++ Extender) chosen to deliver robust gate management with Touch Pass support. The client’s primary requirement was advanced control of gate access, and Protect was selected for its ability to unify video cameras, access control, and network management in one ecosystem.
The full installation includes:
UniFi G3 Intercom for gate entry and access control
UniFi Gate Hub with PoE++ extender for reliable connectivity
AI Turret Cameras for AI-powered video monitoring
Dream Machine Pro SE as the central controller
UNVR for video recording and retention
UniFi Access Hub for expanded access control
ViewPorts for live video monitoring
Dedicated UniFi Access Points for stable wireless coverage
24-Port Pro Max Switch for backbone networking
UPS backup for system resilience
For intrusion protection, Ajax Systems was deployed alongside UniFi Protect. The setup includes:
Ajax Hub 2 Plus as the alarm control panel
MultiTransmitter, connecting third-party wired alarm sensors into the Ajax ecosystem
KeyPad TouchScreen for intuitive arming/disarming
StreetSiren for on-site audible/visual alerts
On this site, UniFi Protect and Ajax Systems work side by side, providing a layered security approach. Protect covers video surveillance, access control, gate management, and networking, while Ajax delivers intrusion protection through its wireless alarm ecosystem. Together, they ensure a comprehensive security environment tailored for real-world needs.
Watch until the end to see how these systems integrate in real-world conditions, and hear directly from the installer about the decisions behind each piece of technology.
